Diplomová práce se zabývá otázkou pozice asistenta pedagoga na základních školách a základních školách praktických, jeho přínosem pro vzdělávání žáků se speciálními vzdělávacími potřebami a také názory jednotlivých asistentů na začleňování těchto žáků do hlavního vzdělávacího proudu. Práce je rozdělena na část teoretickou a praktickou. První kapitola teoretické části je věnována legislativnímu vymezení funkce asistenta pedagoga, objasňuje pojmy asistent pedagoga a osobní asistent, dále se zabývá specifickou funkcí a náplní práce asistenta pedagoga. Další kapitola se zabývá žáky se speciálními vzdělávacími potřebami, vymezuje vybrané druhy postižení, charakterizuje jednotlivé činnosti poradenských zařízení a také se zabývá integrací a inkluzí. V poslední kapitole teoretické části jsou informace týkající se základního vzdělávání žáků se speciálními vzdělávacími potřebami. Výzkumnou část tvoří kvalitativní výzkum, jehož předmětem zkoumání je role asistenta pedagoga na ZŠ a ZŠ praktických. Výzkumné šetření bylo provedeno formou polostrukturovaných rozhovorů a při zpracování byla použita metoda otevřeného kódování.This thesis adresses the issue of a teacher assistant at elementary schools and at primary practical schools, his contribution to the education of pupils with special educational needs and the opinion of individual assistants on the integration of pupils into the mainstream education. This work is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part is devoted to the legislative definition of the position of the assistant teacher, explains the concept of the assistant teacher and the personal assistant. It also deals with a specific function of the assistant teacher and describes the job itself. Another chapter deals with pupils with special educational needs , defines selected types of disability, describes various activities of guidance services and at the same time it deals with the integration and inclusion, too. In the last chapter of the theoretical part, there is information concerning the basic education of pupils with special educational needs. The research part consists of a qualitative research in which the role of the assistant teacher at an elementary school and at a primary practical school is exemined. The survey was carried out through semi-structured interviews and the method of the open coding was used to work out.
