Cílem diplomové práce bylo přeložení části románu Srdečně Váš Šurik současné ruské autorky Ludmily Ulické, který nebyl do češtiny dosud přeložen. Teoretická část práce zahrnuje pojednání o životě a tvorbě autorky, postavení Ludmily Ulické na českém i světovém literárním trhu a její hodnocení literární kritikou. Práce dále zahrnuje literární analýzu překládaného románu a shrnutí problematiky uměleckého překladu. Překladatelský komentář obsahuje vybrané překladatelské transformace, opatřené konkrétními příklady z textu. Na teoretickou část navazuje část praktická, kterou představuje samotný překlad prvních osmi kapitol románu.The aim of the thesis was to translate en excerpt of the not yet translated novel Sincerely Yours, Shurik by the contemporary Russian author Ludmila Ulitskaja. The theoretical part of the thesis comprises information about the life and work of Ludmila Ulitskaja, position of her work in the Czech and world literary market and her assessment by literary critics. The thesis also includes literary analysis of the novel and the summary of the problems concerning literary translation. The translation commentary deals with a number of selected translation methods applied in the translation. Concrete examples from the text are provided. The practical part constitutes the translation of the first eight chapters of the novel.
