Naše práce si klade za cíl poskytnout co nejucelenější výklad o cizojazyčných toponymech a jejich překladech do češtiny a ruštiny a tyto poznatky srozumitelným způsobem vyložit. První část práce se zabývá obecnou charakteristikou onomastiky, její krátkou historií, toponomastikou, a především samotnými toponymy a jejich klasifikací. Další část práce je věnována přejímání cizojazyčných geografických názvů do češtiny a ruštiny, jazykové charakteristice toponym, tj. pravopisu, skloňování a rodu. V závěrečné části byla provedena excerpce toponym z map, atlasů a internetových článků, poté byla excerpovaná toponyma rozdělena do skupin na česká, ruská a anglická města, pohoří, hory a řeky. Z těchto excerpt byla vybrána část, která byla prezentována v abecedním pořadí v tabulkách, kde byl uveden jejich originální název v daném jazyce, jejich přejatá podoba v češtině nebo ruštině a v poslední řadě byla věnována pozornost typu překladatelské transformace, pomocí které bylo dané toponymum do určitého jazyka přejímáno.Our work aims to provide the most comprehensive explanation of foreign language toponyms and its translations into Czech and Russian and to interpret these findings in the most understandable way. The first part deals with general characteristics of onomastics, its short history, toponomastics and most importantly the classification and the toponyms themselves. Other part of this work is dedicated to borrowing of foreign languages geographical names into Czech and Russian, language characteristics of toponyms, i.e. spelling, declension and gender. In the last part, an excerption of toponyms from maps, atlases an Internet articles was made. After that the excerpts were divided into groups: Czech, Russian and English cities, mountain ranges, mountains and rivers. A section was chosen from these excerpts and it was presented in alphabetical order in the tables, where the original name in the language and their borrowed form in Czech or Russian was interpreted, and lastly, attention was paid to a type of translation transformation, through which the given toponymy was borrowed to a particular language.
