Práce je koncipována jako teoretická a jejím tématem je fenomén důvěry. Hlavním cílem práce je popis fenoménu důvěry, popis specifických okolností, vybraných charakteristik a procesů, které s tímto fenoménem souvisejí prostřednictvím analýzy výzkumných studií. V průběhu zpracovávání zdrojů byly použity metody vědeckého myšlení, především systémová analýza, syntéza a komparace. V práci je přiblížena problematika důvěry z hlediska jejího definování, jednotlivých forem důvěry, typů důvěry a jejích zdrojů. V práci jsou také rozpracovány sociálně-psychologické funkce důvěry. Dále je zde také pojednáno o vztahu důvěry k jiným fenoménům, jakými jsou víra, naděje a optimismus. V závěru práce je přiblížena dialektika důvěry a nedůvěry a problematika důvěry v oblasti psychologického poradenství a psychoterapie.The thesis is being framed as a theoretic work; its subject is trust. The main target is a description of the phenomenon of trust, the description of specific circumstances, chosen characteristics and processes related to this phenomenon by means of analysis of research reports. The methods used for elaborating of sources were the method of scientific thinking, firstly system analysis, synthesis and comparison. The thesis approaches problems of the phenomenon of trust in light of its definition, particular forms, types and sources of trust. The thesis also deals with socio-psychological functions of trust and with its relation to other phenomena, as belief, hope and optimism. The conclusion of the thesis deals with the dialectics of the trust and distrust, and problems of trust in the field of psychological counselling and psychotherapy.
