Diplomová práce se zabývá postoji k mateřství z hlediska věku matek. Výzkum je zaměřený zejména na zmapování motivů a okolností spojených s mateřstvím u žen, kterým se první dítě narodilo ve věku mezi 20 a 45 rokem a jejich první dítě není v současnosti starší než 10 let. Pomocí kvalitativního výzkumu formou polostrukturovaného rozhovoru se 32 ženami se snažíme identifikovat motivaci, okolnosti, psychologické i sociální aspekty pozdního rodičovství a jeho vnímání. Výzkum se snaží porozumět současným postojům žen k mateřství a trendům plánování mateřství a posouvání průměrného věku žen při zakládání rodiny. Snažíme se pochopit a zjistit vlivy, které působí na jejich rozhodnutí mít děti. Výzkum také zahrnuje ženy, které měly děti v dřívějším věku a zabývá se okolnostmi, které ovlivnili dobrovolnou či nedobrovolnou volbu porodit dítě právě v tomto věku.The dissertation deals with attitudes toward motherhood in terms of maternal age. This research is focused mainly on motives and circumstances related to motherhood of women who gave birth to the first child between 20 and 45 of the ages and their first child is in the present not older than 10 years. By means of qualitative research in the form of semi-structured interviews with 32 women we try to identify motivation, circumstances and psychological and social aspects of late parenthood and its perception. The research tries to understand current attitudes of women to motherhood and motherhood planning trends and shifting the average age of women when starting a family. We try to understand and identify factors that affect their decision to have children. Research also includes women who had children in an earlier age and dealing with circumstances that influenced the voluntary or involuntary choice to give birth the child just in this age.
