Dále si všímá ke kulturní výměny s etniky střední a severní Asie, etnikem Ainu a sibiřskými etniky. This thesis is concerned with the shamanistic and ecstatic practices which are found in Shintoism and on their characteristics considering the cultural exchange between Japan and the ethnic groups living in Central and North Asia, Siberia and the Ainu. The thesis treats the shamanism of this area on a larger scale and compares it to the tradition of ecstasy as it figures in the Japanese religion. It investigates the mythological roots of the Japanese ecstatic practice in more detailed manner. It is also concerned with the different categories of the Japanese performers of the ecstasy and with their social status. The aim is to compare the Japanese shamanism with the shamanism widespread on the Asian continent and thus to specify the principles typical in the Japanese religion which seem to be the group cooperation of the ?shamans? and the passive form of possession.
