Hlavním podnětem k napsání této práce se stala diskuze vycházející z článku M. Gilberta, v němž kritizuje pojetí klasických integračních teorií pro příliš černobílé zobrazení jednotlivých aktérů evropského vyjednávání. Primárním cílem této práce je zjistit, zda měla M. Thatcherová názorově ucelenou představu o konceptu evropské integrace, kterou se snažila ve své evropské politice prosadit, a zhodnotit, jak svůj evropský koncept aplikovala do evropské arény, definovat hlavní determinanty její evropské politiky v realitě evropského vyjednávání, které případně znamenaly odklon od jejího evropského konceptu.The main spur to writing this thesis is the discussion referring to the article by M. Gilbert in which the concept of classic integrative theories is criticised for being too two-dimensional while describing each separate participant of European talks. The author of this thesis has decided to trace whether or not her European policy was really so black and white, therefore the primary aim of this thesis is to determine whether or not Margaret Thatcher had a complex idea about the European integration concept and evaluate the way she followed her European concept in the European arena. The crucial determinants of her European policy in the reality of the European negotiations which possibly meant a digression from her European concept are also to be defined. The secondary aim of this thesis is to classify/organise Margaret Thatcher?s European ideas in connection with those time discussions.
