Tato disertační práce je věnována rozboru komunikačního chování v televizní reality show izolačního typu. K hlavním tématům patří: pohled na tzv. roviny komunikace a jejich specifika v tomto masmediálním žánru, přehled účastníků a směrů komunikačního aktu tamtéž. Zaměřujeme se i na realizaci nezdvořilosti a specifické komunikační aktivity jako je sebeodhalování a tzv. zpověď. Autorka ukazuje a analyzuje manipulativní mechanismy, které v podobných typech pořadů komunikaci deformují. Teoreticky se práce opírá o poznatky sociolingvistiky, psycholingvistiky a lingvistické pragmatiky. Disertace obsahuje rovněž rozsáhlý materiálový soubor přepsaných komunikátů z vybrané reality show (VyVolení 3).This PhD thesis deals with specific features of communication in the so-called Reality TV (here: the reality show presenting group of people in seclusion). The theoretical background of the thesis is anchored in the general theory of communication, sociolinguistics, social psychology, linguistic pragmatics and the theory of mass media. We focus on the multi-level structure of each communicative event in the mentioned type of TV show and provide an analysis of complex communicative interaction on the verge of interpersonal and mass communication as well as speakers´ behaviour and strategies in this specific (stressful) environment. The extensive material (first recorded and later transcribed) has shown numerous examples of open impoliteness strategies (which, in everyday communication, are difficult to observe) as a result of manipulative activities both on the part of the show producer (as a part of this very TV show format) and within the group of participants. Salient examples of manipulation can be seen in specific communicative genres, branded (in the show) a self-revelation and a confession. The communication in such circumstances cannot be considered unmarked and satisfactory (successful) but, at the same time, it can be used as a ?laboratory communication? showing certain phenomena (e.g., speaker´s self-projection, relational work, face-threatening acts) very clearly.
