Disertační práce se zabývá pojmem fokalizace a jeho proměnami v dějinách naratologického myšlení od počátku sedmdesátých let dvacátého století po současnost. V první kapitole je pozornost věnována rovněž příbuzným pojmům (zejména pojmu hledisko), které v různých literárněteoretických kontextech pojem fokalizace předcházely. V následujících kapitolách jsou předmětem podrobné kritické analýzy zejména pojetí fokalizace Gérarda Genetta a Mieke Balové a dále pak revize pojmu či typologie fokalizace, jež učinili Pierre Vitoux, Andreas Kablitz, William Edmiston, Manfred Jahn, Ruth Ronenová a Görana Nieragden. Pátá kapitola sleduje možnosti přenosu pojmu fokalizace z oblasti literární naratologie do teorie filmového narativu. Poslední kapitola pak představuje nový návrh konceptu fokalizace a je vyústěním kritiky jednotlivých pojetí, která byl učiněna v kapitolách předchozích. Fokalizace je v této práci pojata jako specifický způsob diskurzivní prezentace a je identifikovatelná na základě přítomnosti příslušných distinktivních rysů.The dissertation discusses the concept of focalization and its changes throughout the history of narratological thinking from the early 1970s to the present. The first chapter also addresses the related terms (in particular the term of point of view) which preceded the focalization concept in a number of contexts. The following chapters provide a detailed critical analysis, especially that of the focalization concepts by Gérard Genette and Mieke Bal and of the revisions of the focalization concept or typology by Pierre Vitoux, Andreas Kablitz, William Edmiston, Manfred Jahn, Ruth Ronen and Görana Nieragden. The fifth chapter explores the possibilities of transferring the concept of focalization from the area of literary narratology to the theory of the film narrative. The last chapter introduces a new proposal for the focalization concept, resulting from the criticism of the individual concepts described in the preceding chapters. In this study, focalization is conceived as a specific manner of discursive presentation and it is identifiable on the basis of the presence of the relevant distinctive features.
