Tato diplomová práce pojednává o životě a díle rakouského spisovatele a dramatika Thomase Bernharda. Zaměřuje se na analýzu a interpretaci autorovy tvorby s autobiografickými rysy. Jedná se o pět autobiografických novel Příčina, Sklep, Dech, Chlad a Dítě, které dohromady tvoří cyklus Obrys jednoho života.This diploma thesis deals with the life and the work of the Austrian writer and playwright Thomas Bernhard. It is focused on analysis and interpretation of the author?s work in which we can find elements of autobiography. His work consists of five autobiographical novels that are called The Cause, The Cellar, The Breath, The Coldness and The Baby (Czech translation). Altogether they form the cycle The Silhouette of One Life (original English translation: Gathering Evidence).
