    This diploma thesis deals with the concept of sport and physical activity in post-disaster management. Disasters have been significantly influencing lives of people. They have negative impacts on humans mental health, causing trauma and other mental health diorders. Sport has been recognized as a possible tool of psychosocial intervention in post-disaster management by humanitarian and development oragnizations. Through sport and physical activity, negative effects of disasters on mental health can be addressed. This thesis introduces the theory of psycho-social sport programmes and their use in practice via several case studies. In the end, the theory and practice of psycho-social sport programmes are confronted in order to assess the role and potential of sport and physical activity in post-disaster management.This diploma thesis deals with the concept of sport and physical activity in post-disaster management.
