Tato diplomová práce se zabývá vztahem mezi Policií České republiky a veřejností. Ukazuje vliv spolupráce policie s veřejností na snižování kriminality. Teoretická část definuje pojmy policie, veřejnost, community policing, komunikace a veřejné mínění. Zmiňuje faktory, které ovlivňují vztah mezi policií a veřejností. Zabývá se historickým vývojem policie a rozebírá v této oblasti aktuální stav Policie České republiky. Kvalitativní výzkum probíhal s devíti policisty Krajského ředitelství policie Olomouckého kraje, územního odboru Olomouc pomocí strukturovaného rozhovoru. Pro tvorbu výzkumného nástroje byly vybrány tři základní kategorie. Jedná se o kategorii důvěry, spolupráce a komunikace. Závěry, ke kterým jsme dospěli analýzou rozhovorů, ukazují, že pro efektivní policejní činnost má klíčový význam podpora veřejnosti. Policisté vnímají podporu občanů jako prvořadý faktor pro úspěšný boj s kriminalitou.This thesis looks into the relation between the public and the Police of the Czech Republic. It shows the influence of cooperation between the police and the public on decreasing criminality rate. The theoretical part defines the terms police, public, community policing, communication and public opinion. It mentions the factors which influence the relation between the police and the public. It looks into the history and development of the police and with regards to this it deals with the contemporary state of the Police of the CR. The qualitative survey was carried out with nine officers from The Police Regional Directorate of Olomouc region, Territorial Division Olomouc by means of structured interviews. To format the research instrument three basic categories were chosen. They are as follows ? trust, cooperation and communication. The outcomes produced by analysing the interviews show that the public support plays the key role in the effective police activity. The police officers perceive the public support as the primary factor in a successful fight with criminality.
