Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou ochrany mezinárodních investic a možnostmi řešení sporů z nich vznikajících. Zaměřuje se na definici pojmu investice, instrumenty užívané k ochraně investic, stupně ochrany, dále se zabývá především interakcí práva EU a bilaterálních smluv o ochraně investic. V procesní části, jež se věnuje řešení sporů, je blíže rozvedeno fungování Mezinárodního střediska pro řešení sporů z investic. Celá práce se snaží o propojení teoretických informací a příkladů z praxe, a tak poskytuje ucelenou představu o problematice mezinárodních investic.The thesis deals with the protection of international investments and possibilities for solving disputes arising from them. It focuses on the definition of investment, instruments used to protect the investment, protection regimes, it also deals mainly interaction of EU law and bilateral agreements on investment protection. In the second part, which is dedicated to settlement of disputes is further elaborated functioning of the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes. The whole work is trying to link theoretical information and examples from practice, and thus provides a comprehensive view of issues of international investment.
