Poznámka	Světločivé aferentní neurony, které se nalézají v periferní sítnici. Hustota jejich výskytu se zvyšuje se vzdáleností od fovea centralis. Tyčinky jsou daleko citlivější na světlo než čípky a zajišťují tak černobílé vidění za šera a periferní vidění, ale neumožňují barevné vidění.
