Diplomová práce se v úvodní teoretické části zabývá stářím jako společenským fenoménem v teoretické rovině, vymezuje základní pojmy stárnutí a stáři, hodnotí seniorskou populaci z hlediska demografického vývoje a jejich aktuálního společenského postavení, v exkurzu se zabývá jednotlivými formami péče o seniora, a to v závislosti na prostředí, kde se mu jí dostává. V druhé části se diplomová práce zabývá aktuálním zneužíváním zranitelnosti seniorů v trestně právní rovině, jejími jednotlivými formami, pachateli trestné činnosti na seniorech a následky jejich jednání na poškozených. V závěrečné empirické části diplomová práce zodpovídá stanovenou hypotézu, zda jsou senioři na vesnici více důvěřiví než senioři ve městě.The thesis deals with the old age as a social phenomenon on a theoretical level, defines the basic concepts of the terms ageing and old age, evaluates the senior population from the point of view of the demographic trend and of their current social status. In the excursus the thesis deals with the forms of the senior care depending on the environment where they get the care. The subsequent theoretical part concentrates on the actual abuse of the vulnerability of seniors on the level of criminal law, on the forms of the abuse, on the offenders of criminal delict who commit their crimes on the seniors and on the consequences of their actions on injured parties. The final, empirical part of the thesis answers the set hypothesis if elderly people from the country are gullibler than elderly people from the town.
