Julian Barnes je znám rozdílným přístupem ke každému dílu, avšak tato práce se bude snažit porovnat vybraná témata, které se stabilně vyskytují v jeho dílech. Vybraná díla obsahují Metroland; Before She Met Me; Jak to vlastně bylo?; Láska, atd.. -- Abstrakt: This bachelor thesis is concerned with obsession and male relationships in four selected works of Julian Barnes. Besides the main themes, closely related ones will be discussed as well. Despite Barnes' versatility and different treatments of the novel as a genre, this thesis will focus on studying similar themes and their development tendencies throughout the works. Selected works include Metroland; Before She Met Me; Talking It Over; and Love, etc.
