(182 667 znaků). -- Ved. práce Stanislav Hubík. -- Oponent Lukáš Zámečník. -- Abstrakt: Diplomová práce analyzuje metodou zakotvené analýzy téma kulturního relativismu a etnocentrismu zobrazované v televizním seriálu American Dad!. Analytická část zahrnuje první čtyři sezóny seriálu, které obsahovaly analyzovaný fenomén projekce kulturního relativismu a etnocentrismu v nejvyšší míře. Pomocí metody zakotvené teorie v pojetí Anselma Strausse autorka analyzuje skrze postupy trojího kódování situace, které projektují otázky kulturního relativismu v interakci dominantní kultury s etnickou menšinou. Studie vychází z relativistické tradice a stejným náhledem také hodnotí etnocentrické tendence. Autorka upozorňuje na problematiku mediálních obsahů tohoto typu a jejich vliv na tvorbu kulturních stereotypů, zejména v případě, kdy se mediální obsah prezentuje jako relativistický, ale vykazuje silné etnocentrické tendence, které se projevují primárně a jsou umírňovány v reakci.. -- Abstrakt: This diploma thesis analyses the themes of cultural relativism and ethnocentrism displayed in the American Dad! tv series by the method of grounded theory. The analytical part inludes first four seasons of the American Dad! Tv series. These seasons includes the pnehonemon of cultural relativism and ethnocentrism in the highest degree. Using grounded theory in the concept of Anselm Strauss, the author of this study analyzes situations, which project the issues od cultural relativism in the reaction of ethnic minority with the domination culture through the tripple coding concept. The study is based on the relativistic tradition and valuates the ethnocentric tendencies of the series in the same way. The author highlights the problems of this type of media content and its influence on cultural stereotypes, especially when media content is presented as a relativist, but shows strong ethnocentric tendencies that are manifested primarily and equabled  in the reaction.
