Preference pro ovipozici u čolka horského Rozhodnutí kdy a kde naklást vejce významně ovlivňuje fitness samice a jejího potomstva. V současnosti převláda názor, že primárním faktorem ovlivňující rozhodování samice během ovipozice není maximalizace fitness potomstva, jak se přepokládalo dříve, ale její vlastní reprodukční úspěšnost. Cílem bakalářské práce bude testovat tuto predikci experimentální manipulací abiotických (teplota) a biotických (predátor) faktorů během ovipozice čolka horského, Ichthyosaura alpestris. Možné téma navazující diplomové práce: Behaviorální termoregulace závislá na frekvenciA female?s decision where and when to place her eggs significantly influences both her fitness and fitness of her offspring. Earlier, it was assumed that female preferences aim to maximize female fitness through maximization of fitness of her offspring (anticipatory maternal effect). Currently, many theoretical and emprical studies show that under specific environmental conditions, a female may maximize her fitness even at the expense of lowered fitness of her offspring. The aim of this study is to examine whether female preferences for oviposition are primarily influenced by offspring fitness using experimental manipulation of biotic and abiotic factors during oviposition in the alpine newt (Ichthyosaura alpestris). If this hypothesis holds, the presence of egg predator in preferred temperature for oviposition will lead to egg-deposition in higher or lower temperatures without predator or to egg-retention in female oviduct during experiment. In laboratory thermal gradient (12?22,5 °C), females laid eggs in preferred temperature regardless of the presence/absence of predator?diving beetle (Agabus bipustulatus). These findings suggest that temperature during oviposition is for female?s oviposition decision more important factor than the predation risk of laid eggs. Hence, oviposition preferences do not corroborate the hypothesis of anticipatory maternal effect in the alpine newt.
