Práce mapuje charakter žánru apokryfu na našem území ve středověké epoše. Staročeské apokryfy jsou zasazeny do kontextu událostí historických i teologických. Zároveň jsou tyto památky porovnány s jejich kanonizovanou předlohou. To vše je zkoumáno na pozadí ustanovování první církve a vzniku kánonu; je nastíněna mnohovrstevnatost apokryfního žánru. Analýza apokryfních textů se neobejde bez znalosti Písma, a proto je součástí práce oddíl věnovaný jazykovému stylu Nového zákona, a to především evangelií.The presented dissertation describes a nature of apocryphal story in a literary context of the Czech mediaeval epoch. The Old Czech Apocrypha are put and investigated within the context of historic and theologian events; these old literary documents are compared with their canonical models at the same time. All is analyzed on the background of the foundation of the first Church and the origination of canon. Simultaneously, a versatility and a polysemy of the apocryphal genre is outlined. The analysis of apocryphal text is not possible to manage without a knowledge of Holy Scripture, therefore the section devoted to the rhetoric and the stylistics of The New Testament, the Gospels above all, makes up the part of the dissertation.
