Práce se zabývá rituálním chováním a mentalitou spojenými se šintoismem a slovanským pohanstvím. Snaţí se najít společné prvky mezi těmito dvěma archaickými náboţenstvími, která mají zcela odlišný původ, a to za pomocí srovnání několika obřadů týkajících se rituální očisty, smrti, pohřbívání, přechodu do jiného společenského stavu nebo ročních cyklů. Zároveň se částečně zabývá historií obou náboţenství a definuje několik stěţejních prvků vlastních všem animistickým náboţenstvím. Cílem práce je poukázat na velmi podobný vývoj náboţenských představ v nejstarších lidských společenstvích.The aim of this study is to compare ritual behavior and practices connected to Japanese Shinto religion and Slavic paganism. I tried to find differences and similarities between these two cultures based on comparison of their ritual practices. Even when they do not share similar historical background and did not influence each other, both of these religions belong to group of archaic animistic cults. I wanted to prove this by describing and contrasting a few rituals and rites connected to ritual cleanliness, death, burials, change of social status or year cycles. This work also deals with history of both religions, basic features of archaic religions and forms of rituals as they were specified by prominent anthropologists.
