Schillera a J. Chr. Gottscheda v dramatech "Maria Start" a "Der sterbende Cato". Pozornost je především věnována cíli tragédie a způsobu, jakým má být tento cíl dosažen. Dále práce rozebírá hlavní téma obou tragédií, tedy téma svobody. Pojednává též o koncepci postav a práci s historickou látkou.. -- Abstrakt: The diploma paper is concentrated on the fulfilment of some of the theoretical resources of Fr. Schiller and J. Chr. Gottsched in the dramas "Maria Stuart" and "Der sterbende Cato". The attention is paid especially to the target of the tragedy and the way to reach this target. The thesis also analyses the main topic of the plays, i.e. the freedom, and the conception of characters and the attitude to the history.
