O trabalho é dividido em quatro partes principais. A primeira parte analisa o período desde século XIV até os anos oitenta do século XVI. A segunda parte trata da época entre os anos oitenta do século XVI e os meados do século XVII. A terceira parte é sobre período desde os meados do século XVII até os anos vinte do século XIX e a última, quarta parte analisa os últimos oitenta anos do século XIX.. -- Abstrakt: This thesis treats the development of Anglo-Portuguese relations since the 14th century until the end of the 19th century. The thesis is divided into four main parts. The first part analyses a period since the 14th century until 1580s. The second part treats the period between 1580s and the first half of the 17th century. The third part is about the period since the second half of the 17th century until the 1820s and the last, fourth part analyses the last eighty years of the 19th century.
