Tato bakalářská práce si kladla za cíl provést neoformalistickou analýzu filmu Příchozí (2016). Hlavním účelem bylo pojmenování dominanty ve struktuře snímku. Metodologickým východiskem této analýzy byl neoformalistický přístup, popsaný v knize Breaking the Glass Armor Kristin Thompson. Zároveň byla zohledněna i příslušnost snímku k žánru sci-fi. Pro zasazení Příchozích do žánrového kontextu byl použit článek Charlese Ramíreze Berga "Immigrants, Aliens, and Extraterrestrials". Komplexní analýza snímku odhalila dva motivy, jež tvoří jeho dominantu motiv kruhu a motiv neschopnosti komunikace. Ty propojují tematickou rovinu snímku s narativními a stylistickými postupy, což se projevuje především ve způsobu využití flashforwardů. Závěr analýzy mimo jiné naznačuje další možnou oblast zkoumání Příchozích, a to z hlediska žánrových konvencí.This bachelor thesis aimed to do a neoformalist analysis of the film Arrival (2016). The main purpose was to name the dominant element in the film structure. The methodology basis for this analysis was the neoformalist approach described in Kristin Thompson's Breaking the Glass Armor. The genre definition of the movie has also been taken into account. Charles Ramirez Berg's article "Immigrants, Aliens, and Extraterrestrials" was used for allocating the genre kontext of Arrival. The complex analysis of the film revealed two motifs that created its dominance - the motif of the circle and the motif of inability to communicate. They link the themes of the movie with narrative and stylistic techniques which are reflected primarily in the way of using flashforward. The conclusion of the analysis, among other things, suggests another areas for future research in terms of genre conventions.
