Cílem této práce bylo zjistit, zda je možné v pobytových službách umírajícího seniora doprovázet a jakým způsobem je doprovázení realizováno. Pro nejlepší získání dat byla zvolena metoda kvalitativního výzkumu. Práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a empirickou část. V teoretické části jsou vysvětleny pojmy vztahujících se k tématu, nejdříve pojem stáří, umírání. Následuje kapitola historie doprovázení a současný stav pobytových služeb a již konkrétní oblasti doprovázení umírajícího. Poslední částí je péče o zesnulého a rituály spojené se smrtí klienta. V empirické části je popsána metoda kvalitativního výzkumu, interpretace dat a shrnutí výzkumu.The main focus of this thesis was to find out if residential care allows for accompaniment of a dying elderly person and in what way can this accompaniment be realized. For the best data acquisition, this thesis with the qualitative research method. The thesis is divided into theoretical and empirical parts. The theoretical part of this thesis explains terms related to the main topic, foremostly the term elderly and dying. This is followed by a chapter on history of accompanying the elderly, the current state of residential care and specific areas dealing with accompaniment of the dying elderly. The last part deals with the care of the deceased and rituals connected with the death of a client. The empirical part describes the method of quantitative research, interprets the data and summarizes the conclusions.
