Popisuje jednotlivé definice mentální retardace dle MKN, metodické doporučení ke zřízení asistenta pedagoga dle Ministerstva školství, definice asistenta pedagoga, činnost asistentů pedagoga a přehled platového ohodnocení asistenta pedagoga. V empirické části byl realizován výzkumný dotazník, který byl následně předložen vybraným rodičům. Zjišťovaly se názory jednotlivých rodičů na asistenta pedagoga v konkrétní škole, kterou navštěvuje jejich dítě.. -- Abstrakt: The thesis is focused on describing the position of assistant teacher for children with mental disabilities. It describes the different definitions of mental retardation MKN, methodological recommendations for the establishment of an assistant teacher according to the Ministry of Education, the definition of teacher's assistant, teaching assistant and an overview of salaries for assistant teacher. In the empirical part was carried out a research questionnaire, which was subsequently submitted to selected parents. They surveyed the opinions of individual parents on a teacher's assistant in a particular school attended by their child.
