Hlavním cílem této práce je demonstrovat, jak Greg Egan popularizuje filosofii mysli ve své povídkové sbírce Axiomat. Toho bude dosaženo vybráním vhodných povídek (takových, které se zabývají filosofií mysli), jejich studováním a hledáním různých teorií mysli, které v nich Egan používá. Tyto teorie budou vysvětleny pomocí sekundárních zdrojů týkajících se filosofie mysli a pak porovnány se způsobem, jakým je popularizuje Egan ve svém díle. Dalším cílem je popsat fenomén současné popularizace vědy v médiích a nové trendy v ní. Další důležitou částí této práce je vysvětlená vztahu mezi sci-fi literaturou a filosofií mysli a kognitivními vědami. V neposlední řadě je cílem této práce také představit Grega Egana a obecně australské spisovatele sci-fi literatury.The main aim of this thesis is to demonstrate Greg Egan's popularization of philosophy of mind in his short story collection Axiomatic. This will be achieved by picking convenient short stories (those which deal with philosophy of mind), studying them and finding the different theories of philosophy of mind in them. These theories will be explained by using secondary sources dealing with philosophy of mind and then compared with the way Greg Egan popularizes them in his fiction. Next goal is to describe the phenomena of contemporary popularization of science in media and the new trends in it. Another important part of this thesis is the explanation of the relation between science fiction and philosphy of mind and cognitive sciences. Last but not least, the aim of this thesis is also to introduce Greg Egan and Australian science fiction writers in general.
