Bakalářská práce se skládá z části teoretické a části empirické. V první části jsou vymezeny pojmy mentální retardace, její etiologie, klasifikace jednotlivých stupňů poruch a možnosti prevence vzniku mentálního postižení, pracovní uplatnění osob s mentálním postižením, význam práce, pracovní trh, důsledky nezaměstnanosti, legislativní podpora zaměstnávání osob s mentálním postižením, profesní přípravy a typy sociálních služeb. Empirická část se zabývá stylem organizace a konceptem pracovního prostředí. Dále se zaměřuje na analýzu sociálně terapeutické dílny Handicap centrum Srdce o.p.s. a na problematiku, jak zaměstnanci/klienti hodnotí a vnímají svou práci. V neposlední řadě bakalářská práce zdůrazňuje, že rovněž lidé s postižením mají právo na to být zapojeni v pracovních činnostech a dosahovat uspokojení ze svého zaměstnání.The Bachelor's Thesis consists of the theoretical and empiric parts. The first part provides definitions of terms such as mental retardation, its etiology, classification of individual levels of mental disorders and options for preventing the occurrence of mental disability, career possibilities of mentally handicapped people, importance of work, labour market, consequences of unemployment, legislative support for employing mentally handicapped people, occupational training and types of social services. The empiric part deals with the style of organisation and concept of the work environment. Moreover, it focuses on the analysis of the social therapeutic workshop (sheltered workshop) run under the Handicap Centrum Srdce non-profit making organisation and the issues of how the employees/clients assess and perceive their own work. Last, but not least the Bachelor's Thesis emphasises that people with a disability also have the right to be involved in work activities and get satisfaction from their employment.
