Diplomová práce je zaměřena na pastorační péči o nemocného v domácím prostředí a na prohloubení této péče s ohledem na nové metody ve zdravotnictví. Nosným tématem je vědomí smyslu života, kde víra v Boha je cestou k tomuto smyslu. Je zde zdokumentován pohled doprovázejícího, veřejnosti i kněží na nemoc, utrpení a umírání tak, aby současné možnosti pastorace učinily konec života důstojným.This thesis deals with pastoral care of the patient in home environment and wth the possible ways of acquiring deeper insight into the aspects of this care with respect to new methods introduced in medicine. Special emphasis is placed on the awareness of one's life's sense, with faith in God acting as a path leading to the discovery of this sense. The thesis documents the opinions of accompanying persons as well as those expressed by the general public, priests on the subjects of illness,suffering and dying, all this with the aim of making the end of a person's life as dignified as possible.
