Předmětem práce je analýza cestovního deníku hraběnky Leopoldiny Thun, rozené Lamberg zachycující její cestu do Německa a Holandska v roce 1839. Analýza deníku se zaměřuje na každodennost cestování šlechtičen v 1. polovině 19. století a na reflexi samotné cesty. V první řadě se tedy zabývá onou každodenností, tj. jakými dopravními prostředky Leopoldina cestovala, kde se ubytovávala, jak se stravovala, jaké destinace navštívila i jaký byl její kulturní a společenský život po dobu cesty. Práce se dále zabývá dvěma sociálně-kulturními aspekty, tedy příslušností ke šlechtickému stavu a genderové problematice, konkrétně tím, jak se tyto dva aspekty v deníku odrážejí.The thesis is based on the analysis of the travel diary of the countess Leopoldina Thun, née Lamberg. The diary describes her journey to Germany and Holland in 1839. The analysis deals with the topic of everyday life of travelling in the 1st half of the 19th century, and focuses on travelling of noblewomen. Firstly, it deals with the everyday life of travelling, that is how the countess Leopoldina and her fellow-passengers travelled, where they stayed, what they ate, what their destinations were and also what was their cultural and social life like during the journey. Secondly, the thesis also focuses on the two social-cultural aspects - affiliation to the nobility and gender role and how it is reflected in the diary.
