Práce má dvě části- teoretickou a výzkumnou. Teoretická část je věnována sumarizaci teoretických poznatků pojících se s tématem práce. První část výzkumného šetření má za cíl zjistit skrze polostrukturované rozhovory vliv a význam psa jako psychosociálního "terapeuta" na vybrané skupiny seniorů v Olomouci. Druhá část výzkumu je věnována zjišťování informací od poskytovatelů rezidenčních služeb pro seniory v Olomouckém kraji s cílem zjistit jaké podmínky jsou u nich v zařízení ohledně kontaktu klientů se psem.The thesis is divided into two parts a theoretical one and a research one. The theoretical part is dedicated to summarizing the theoretical findings associated with the topic of the thesis. The goal of the first research part is to determine the influence and importance of a dog as a psychosocial "therapist" on selected groups of seniors in Olomouc. The research method used is a semi-structured interview. The second research part deals with providers of residential services for seniors in the Olomouc region. The goal of the second research part is to determine if the providers allow their clients contact with dogs and if so, what are the conditions.
