Bakalářská práce zpřístupňuje kriticky přehlédnutá fakta o kázání svatého Jana Zlatoústého na téma Ježíšovy Horské řeči ve srovnání s některými soudobými pojetími. V první části je stručně představena samotná osobnost svatého Jana Zlatoústého. Dále jsou postupně popsány jeho homilie na pátou až sedmou kapitolu Matoušova evangelia. Důraz je kladen na etická témata v těchto kázáních. Poté jsou představeny přístupy ke Kázání na Hoře u některých dnešních autorů. Nejprve je to Helmut Weber, dále Jan Merell a nakonec Daniel Ženatý. Na závěr jsou popsány rozdíly a shody v hodnocení přikázání Horské řeči u těchto autorů.The aim of this thesis is to analyse homilies of Saint John Chrysostom on the Sermon on the Mount and compare them with several modern interpretations. The first part describes the life of John Chrysostom and his preachings based on fifth, sixth, and seventh chapters of the Gospel of Matthew. The stress is laid on ethical aspects of these lectures. Next part of the thesis introduces some other perceptions of the Sermon on the Mount by contemporary authors: Helmut Weber, Jan Merell, and Daniel Ženatý. The conclusion of this thesis contains a description of differences and agreements in perception of the Sermon on the Mount in these authors.
