Hlavním tématem práce jsou římské lázně budované v Británii v době její římské okupace a jejich stopy v současné kultuře. Jejím cílem je poskytnutí základních informací o římské Británii a o obecné charakteristice římského lázeňství z pohledu historického, architektonického, technologického a sociálního. Stěžejní část práce představuje výčet a popis dnes přístupných římských lázeňských komplexů v Británii s detailnějším pohledem na římské lázně Aquae Sulis (Bath).The work focuses on Roman bath houses that were built in Britain during its Roman occupation. The author tries to describe briefly the history of Roman Britain with special focus on the consequences and the results of Roman presence in Britain. The following part deals with the origin, history and signifikance of Roman baths in general. The crucial section provides a list of all the sites in Britain which are accessible and have Roman baths displayed in some way.
