Teoretická část práce popisuje českou azylovou infrastrukturu, vymezuje pojmy cizinec, žadatel o mezinárodní ochranu, azylant a vybírá relevantní odborná témata: kulturní šok, stres, akulturace, adaptace, psychické trauma, PTSD, poruchy přizpůsobení, interkulturní citlivost. Empirickou část předchází popis předvýzkumu, z něhož vychází formulace výzkumných otázek a směr vlastního výzkumu (depresivní stavy a adaptační potíže). Cílem práce je identifikovat projevy a dopady psychické zátěže v populaci klientů azylových zařízení s ohledem na ideální nastavení psychologické služby. Kombinovaný design využívá metody kvantitativní i kvalitativní (deskriptivní statistika a terénní výzkum) a přináší nové poznatky o psychických potížích uprchlíků. Kvalitativní část popisuje konkrétní prožívání uprchlíka v průběhu adaptace a v mezilidských vztazích. Autorka dochází k závěru, že psycholog má v azylovém zařízení jednoznačně opodstatnění a je naznačen i obecný rámec jeho práce v interkulturním prostředí azylového zařízení.In theoretical part, author describes the Czech asylum infrastructure, explains terms as foreigner, applicant for international protection, asylum seeker and outlines the most important topics: cultural shock, stress, acculturation, adaptation, psychic trauma, PTSD, adaptation disorders, inter-cultural sensitivity, etc. The empirical part is introduced with a pilot study that enabled to formulate the research questions and set the research direction (depressive states and adaptation difficulties). The thesis objective is to identify manifestations and adverse affects of mental load on the asylum centres' clients with an aim to find an ideal setting of psychological services. Combined design allows using both quantitative and qualitative methods (descriptive statistics as well as field research) and brings new findings about mental problems of refugees. The qualitative part describes factual experience of refugees within the adaptation process and in interpersonal relationships. Author comes to a conclusion that presence of a psychologist in an asylum centre is fully justified and she also outlines the general scope of activities of a psychologist in an asylum centre.
