Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá zvukovou analýzou hororu Tiché místo (2017) režiséra Johna Krasinského. Pomocí neoformalistického přístupu je na základě žánrových konvencí ve filmu vyhledávána a rozebírána úloha zvuku; konkrétně jaké tvoří významy, jak pracuje s divákovým očekáváním a jaké ozvláštňující prvky představuje. Bylo shledáno, že zvuk ve filmu zastupuje dominantní roli. Ačkoli film rekonstruuje pro žánr typické vzorce, vytváří také vzorce zcela inovativní. Absence dialogů přenechává zvukové popředí ruchům, které vedou diváka k požadovaným emocím a ujímají se i funkce hlavního řídícího prostředku. Pozornosti bylo dáno také práci s tichem, které zapojuje divákovu participaci na tvorbě významů. Za zvlášť netradiční prostředek bylo stanoveno užití absolutní absence zvuku docílené subjektivní percepcí postavy s hluchotou. Opomenuta nebyla ani úloha hudby, která dodává scénám požadované tempo a subjektivně postavy doprovází.This bachelor's thesis deals with the sound analysis of the horror film A Quiet Place (2017) by director John Krasinski. Using a neoformalist approach, the role of sound in the film is sought and analyzed based on genre conventions; specifically what are the significances, how does it work with the viewer's expectations and what defamiliarization elements does it present. Sound was found to play a dominant role in the film. Although the film reconstructs genre-typical patterns, it also creates completely innovative ones. The absence of dialogues leaves the sound foreground to noises that lead the viewer to desired emotions and also take over as a main controlling tool. Attention was also given to the use of silence, which involves the viewer's participation in the creation of significances. The use of the absolute absence of sound achieved by the subjective perception of a character with deafness was determined as a particularly non-traditional tool. The role of a music, which adds the desired tempo to the scenes and subjectively accompanies the characters, was not left out either.
