Diplomová práce pojednává o odlišnostech mezi několika generacemi japonských žen, které vyrůstaly v druhé polovině 20. století a činily různá životní rozhodnutí dle chápání role ženy ve společnosti a možností doby. Práce vychází z tematiky genderu, stereotypu a feminismu. Popisuje rovněž japonské zákony, které byly podstatné pro přehodnocení role ženy ve společnosti, a jejich vliv na množství možností, které se japonským ženám po druhé světové válce otevřely. Dále si práce všímá, jak byly názory a různé akce žen prezentovány veřejnosti v médiích, a popisuje změnu rodinného a společenského života japonských žen. V neposlední řadě práce analyzuje životy japonských žen, na kterých se pokusí ukázat, do jaké míry se změnily priority, způsob života a přístup různých generací k tradiční představě o roli ženy ve společnosti.The thesis is concerned with differences between several generations of Japanese women, who were growing up in the second half of the 20. century and were making various life decisions according to their understanding of the role of Japanese woman and according to the opportunities of their time. The thesis is based on gender, stereotype and feminism issues and describes Japanese laws that were fundamental to a revaluation of the role of woman in the society as well as their effect on the amount of opportunities for Japanese women. The thesis also pays attention to the presentation of women's opinions in Japanese medias and describes the change of family and social life of Japanese women too. Later the thesis analyzes the lives of Japanese women, on which it tries to prove, how the priorities, lifestyle and attitudes to traditional role of women changed in the past 70 years.
