Bakalářská práce předkládá informace o etnickém složení obyvatel Singapuru a charakteristikách jednotlivých národnostních skupin. Nejpočetnějšími skupinami jsou Číňané, Malajci a Indové. Tyto skupiny od sebe kromě rozdílných kulturních zvyklostí odlišuje také náboženství (buddhismus, islám, hinduismus). Na popis náboženských specifik je v textu kladen zvláštní důraz. Práce využívá především data Singapurského statistického úřadu. Práce v úvodu popisuje historické souvislosti vedoucí k národnostní pestrosti, následně nastiňuje vzájemné vztahy jednotlivých etnik a politiku státu ve vztahu k nejvýznamnějším národnostním skupinám. Informace z dostupných zdrojů jsou porovnávány s vlastními poznatky autorky zjištěnými během 4 měsíců strávených v Singapuru.This thesis deals with the ethnic composition of the population of Singapore and the characteristics of particular ethnic groups. The largest groups are formed by the Chineses, Malays and Indians. These groups differ from each other in both cultural specifics and religion (Buddhism, Islam, Hinduism). The thesis emhasizes religion differences and specifics. Data used in text were provided by Department of Statistics Singapore. At the beginning the thesis describes historical grounds, which lead to multiculturalism. The text further outlines mutual relationships between ethnics and the politics of Singpore concerning the most important ethnic groups in the country. Information were taken from available sources and compared with own experience, which the author gained during 4 months in Singapore.
