Práce se zabývá stavem domorodého obyvatelstva v Peru a přibližuje vývoj jeho právního a sociálního postavení od dob španělské conquisty až po současnost. První část práce se zabývá socio-demografickými charakteristikami dnešního domorodého obyvatelstva. Nejrozsáhlejší kapitola se věnuje vývoji právního postavení indiánů, hlavní důraz je kladen na období posledních dvaceti let, kdy se situace indiánů výrazně zlepšila. Nejsou však opomenuta ani období z let koloniálních nebo počátku 20. století. Zpracovány jsou také hlavní dokumenty mezinárodního práva (Úmluva 169 Mezinárodní organizace práce a Deklarace OSN o právech domorodých národů) a vývoj domorodých organizací a státních institucí v zemi. Cílem práce je také prezentovat současné sociální problémy a jejich možná řešení do budoucna.The thesis deals with the situation of indigenous people in Peru and shows development of its legal and social status from the time of Spanish conquest up till now. The first part of this thesis deals with socio-demographic characteristics of today's indigenous people. The largest chapter deals with the development of legal status of Indians, with the main emphasis placed in the last twenty years, when the situation of Indians has markedly improved. However, the colonial period and the time of early 20th century has not been omitted. The major documents of international law (Convention 169 and the International Labor Organization and The UN Declaration on the Rights of indigenous people), the development of indigenous organizations and state institutions in the country are also being taken into consideration. The main aim is to present the current social problems and possible solutions for the future.
