Cílem této bakalářské práce bylo přeložit do českého jazyka část kapitoly knihy Pietra Di Donata Christ in Concrete a svůj překlad dále analyzovat. V analýze upozorňuáji na specifika textu a problematiku jejich překladu. Jedná se především o prvky italštiny a italksé kultury v anglickém textu. Dále se v analýze věnuji překladatelským metodám jednotlivých aspektů anglického jazyka.The aim of this dissertation was the translation of a part of a chapter from the American novel Christ in Concrete by Pietro Di Donato in Czech and to make a commentary to the translation. In the commentary I pooint out the specifics of the text and the translation of those. Then I present some methods of translation according to the different aspects of English language.
