Disertační práce se věnuje aktuálnímu tématu edukace v seniorském věku. Disertační práce se skládá ze dvou částí. V teoretické části je nastíněn současný stav s ohledem na demografické stárnutí populace. Následně je uvedena charakteristika seniorů a období stáří a představena je institucionální edukace seniorů, přičemž disertační práce je blíže zaměřena na univerzitu třetího věku (dále také jako U3V). Poslední kapitola teoretické části se věnuje kvalitě života a smysluplnosti života v seniorském věku v kontextu účasti seniorů na institucionální edukaci. Druhá část disertační práce je již empiricky zaměřená. Hlavním cílem disertační práce bylo vyvození komplexní charakteristiky seniorů účastnících se institucionální edukace (U3V), včetně míry jejich existenciální zakotvenosti, a analýza vybraných aspektů institucionální edukace v seniorském věku (U3V). Za účelem dosažení stanoveného cíle byl ve výzkumu použit dotazník vlastní konstrukce, dále dotazníky věnující se smysluplnosti života (Logo-test od E. Lucasové a Existenciální škála od A. Längle a kol.) a Eysenckův osobnostní dotazník EOD. Výzkumem byla zjištěna charakteristika seniorů týkající se demografických a dalších údajů, dále charakteristika seniorů v rámci sociálních vztahů a charakteristika seniorů vztahující se k temperamentovým rysům. Výzkum v disertační práci byl zaměřen i na smysluplnost života seniorů jakožto podstatný ukazatel kvality života a předpokladu duševního zdraví. V rámci smysluplnosti života byla také statisticky vyhodnocena data. Výzkum se věnoval také vybraným aspektům institucionální edukace v seniorském věku (v rámci U3V). Respondenti uváděli různé motivy, které je vedly k účasti na institucionální edukaci (na U3V), zároveň také zmínili mnohá pozitiva, která jim účast na této institucionální edukaci přinesla. V rámci disertační práce proběhla také analýza vybraných vztahů zaměřených na institucionální edukaci (U3V). Zjištění tohoto výzkumu dokládají význam U3V pro seniory. Disertační práce představila inspirativní a ucelená data o institucionální edukaci seniorů na U3V. Disertační práce obohatila poznatky týkající se edukace seniorů a zároveň poskytla určité údaje využitelné v praxi.Dissertation deals with the current topic of education in old age. The dissertation consists of two parts. The theoretical part outlines the current condition in regard with demographic population ageing. It is followed by the description of the elderly and old age and by the introduction of institutional education of the elderly, whereas the dissertation further aims at the University of the Third Age (hereinafter referred to as U3A). The last chapter of the theoretical part focuses on the quality and meaningfulness of life in the old age in the context of participation of the elderly in institutional education. The second part of the dissertation is oriented empirically. The main objective of the dissertation was to deduce the complex characteristics of the elderly participating in institutional education (U3A), including the rate of their existential anchoring, and the analysis of selected aspects of institutional education in old age (U3A). For the purpose of reaching the given objective the research utilized a self-constructed questionnaire, questionnaires dealing with the meaningfulness of life (Logo-test by E. Lucasová and Existential Scale by A. Längle and others) and EOD Eysenck´s Personality Questionnaire. The research focused on the characteristics of the elderly relating to the demographic and other data, the characteristics of the elderly within social relations and the characteristics of the elderly relating to the temperamental signs. The research in the dissertation also focused on the meaningfulness of life of the elderly as a significant indicator of the quality of life and the prerequisite for mental health. The data were also statistically evaluated within the meaningfulness of life. The research also dealt with the selected aspects of institutional education in old age (within U3A). Respondents stated various motives leading them to participate in institutional education (U3A), and mentioned various positive aspects brought to them by the participation in this institutional education. The dissertation also included an analysis of selected relations aimed at institutional education (U3A). The findings of this research support the significance of U3A for the elderly. The dissertation introduced inspiring and complex data regarding the institutional education of the elderly in U3A. The dissertation enriched the knowledge relating to the education of the elderly and provided certain data usable in practice.
