Práce se zabývá terminologicko-estetickým vymezením singer-songwriter neboli písničkáře. V terminologické části přináší syntézu dosavadních náhledů na tento jev. Kořeny písničkářství sahají do lidové a později folkové oblasti, nejrozšířenějším typem je pozdější skupina amerických autorů 60. a 70. let 20. století, kteří spadají pod soft-rock. Druhá část vymezuje frekventované estetické kategorie 1. Autenticita, 2. Výraz a 3. Originalita, které se s písničkáři často spojují. Zvláštní pozornost je věnována ženskému písničkářství a Carole King, na které jsou uvedené kvality demonstrovány.The thesis focuses on the phenomenon of the "singer-songwriter", which is primarily connected with the American group of authors from the end of the 1960s and through the 1970s that belongs to the acoustic subgenre of rock music called soft-rock. The terminological part includes an analysis of the Czech and Anglo-American definitions of the term and discuss three aesthetic categories connected with the singer-songwriters: 1. Authenticity, 2. Expression and 3. Originality. The topic also focuses on female authors with an emphasis on Carole King.
