Cílem diplomová práce na téma "Práva pacienta: právo na informace a ochrana jeho osobních údajů" bylo popsat vybraná práva pacientů. Téma spadá pod medicínské právo, které je v první kapitole charakterizováno, a jsou zde také uvedeny právní předpisy, které se k němu vztahují. Postupovat podle pojmu "lege artis" je základní povinností lékaře. Ve druhé kapitole je rozebrán vztah mezi pacientem a lékařem. Původně byl tento vztah nerovný, v dnešní době by měl být již partnerský a zaměřen na vůli pacienta. Pacient má poměrně dost práv, aby byla zaručena jeho autonomie. Ve třetí kapitole popisuji právo pacienta na informace a s tím související instituty, jako je například informovaný souhlas. Pacient musí být poučen o zákroku a zároveň k němu musí udělit souhlas. Čtvrtá kapitola se zabývá ochranou osobních údajů, které jsou natolik citlivé, že je k nim nutno přistupovat s náležitou péčí. Lékař musí zachovávat o všech skutečnost, které se dozvěděl v souvislosti s lékařskou péčí, povinnou mlčenlivost. Všechny zdravotní informace o pacientovi jsou vedeny ve zdravotnické dokumentaci. Veřejným orgánem státní správy, který dohlíží nad ochranou osobních údajů, je Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů.The aim of the thesis on "patients 'rights: the right to information and protection of their personal data" was chosen to describe patients' rights. The fourth chapter deals with the protection of personal data, which are so sensitive that it be treated with proper care. The physician must maintain all the fact that he learned in connection with medical care, mandatory confidentiality. All medical information about the patient is kept in the medical records.
