Cílem mé práce je analýza adaptačního procesu Ten, kdo stojí v koutě, jehož specifikem je, že za románovou předlohou, scénářem i režií adaptace stojí pouze jedna osoba, Stephen Chbosky. Metodologicky práce vychází z Teórie adaptácie od Lindy Hutcheonové, přičemž pro mé bádání je relevantní kapitola o formách, adaptátorovi a kontextu. První kapitola je věnovaná představení metodologie a ve druhé vyhodnocuji literaturu. Ve třetí kapitole se soustředím na formální stránku adaptace s ohledem na úhel pohledu, hudbu, zvuk, postavy a kostýmy. Ve čtvrté kapitole shrnuji ekonomické a osobní motivace adaptátora a určuji, kdo tímto adaptátorem je. V poslední kapitole se zaměřuji na kontextualizaci poznatků ze třetí kapitoly, ale využívám také výsledky bádání z kapitoly čtvrté. Závěr práce shrnuje odhalené změny a důvody, proč k nim došlo.The aim of the thesis is an analysis of an adaptation process of The Perks of Being a Wallflower, the specifics of which is that only one person, Stephen Chbosky, is behind the novel, the script and the direction of the adaptation. Methodological resource of it is the Theory of adaptation by Linda Hutcheon while the chapter on forms, adapter and context is relevant to my research. The first chapter is dedicated to the introduction of the methodology and the second to the evaluation of the literature. In the third chapter, I focus on the formal side of the adaptation with regard to the point of view, music, sound, characters and costumes. In the fourth chapter, I summarize the economic and personal motivations of the adapter and determine who this adapter is. In the last chapter, I focus on contextualizing the findings from the third chapter, but I also use the research results from the fourth chapter. The conclusion of the work summarizes the revealed changes and the reasons why they occurred.
