Tato bakalářská práce zkoumá vyjádření kategorie určenosti "definiteness" v anglickém, českém a čínském jazyce. Tyto jazyky byly vybrány proto, že zastupují dvě různé jazykové skupiny - jazyky, které mají členy (angličtina) a jazyky, které členy nemají (čeština a čínština). Cílem diplomové práce bylo zjistit, jak se do češtiny a čínštiny překládají anglické jmenné fráze, které obsahující člen určitý.This bachelor thesis investigates the expression of definiteness in three different languages, English, Czech and Chinese. These languages were chosen because they represent two different language groups - languages with articles (English) and languages without articles (Czech and Chinese). The aim of the thesis was to find out how Czech and Chinese translate noun phrases containing the English definite article 'the'.
