Tato bakalářská práce je věnována Nizozemským a Anglickým adjektivním přirovnáním, která obsahují zvířecí element. Výchozím jazykem je nizozemština, což znamená, že byl nejprve vytvořen nizozemský korpus a později byly vyhledány anglické ekvivalenty. Na začátku práce je stručně charakterizován vztah frazeologie k jiným lingvistickým a vědeckým disciplínám. Krátce je také popsána historie frazeologie a vysvětleny pojmy týkající se tohoto tématu. Dále je práce zaměřena na strukturu a motivaci přirovnání a následně se věnuje zvířecí symbolice. Důležitou součástí je také vytvořený korpus všech porovnávaných nizozemských přirovnáni, s jejich anglickými ekvivalenty a určenou mírou ekvivalence.This bachelor thesis deals with the comparison of Dutch and English adjectival similes with animal elements. The default language is Dutch, for which reason a corpus of Dutch similes was first created and then English equivalents were assigned. In the first part, the relation of phraseology with linguistic and other scientific disciplines is characterized, the history of phraseology is briefly described and some of the concepts related to this topic are explained. Further is this thesis focused on the structure and motivation of similes, followed by a description of animal symbolism. An important part of the thesis is also a created corpus of all the compared Dutch similes with their English equivalents and the determined rate of equivalence.
