Předkládaná bakalářská práce zpracovává formou rešerše aktuální české a světové literatury problematiku závratí a kompetence fyzioterapeuta k této časté problematice pacientů. Úvod nabízí pohled anatomicko-fyziologický, předkládá definici výrazu závrať, její charakter i příčiny. Dále popisuje roli rovnováhy a nejčastějšího projevu, nystagmu. Samostatná kapitola je věnována příčinám závratí a popisu jednotlivých klinických jednotek. Klíčem ke správné volbě terapie je vyšetření, které je v této práci detailně zpracováno a rozšířeno o další metody (např. audiologické vyšetření), které fyzioterapeut nemá přímo ve své kompetenci. V rámci ucelené rehabilitace je nutná znalost i této možnosti vyšetření. V kapitole zabývající se terapií jsou prezentovány léčebné manévry a to především na příkladu léčby benigního paroxysmálního polohového vertiga. K dalším možnostem terapie se řadí vestibulární rehabilitace, konkrétní cvičební programy, využití elektroterapie, farmakoterapie a využití moderních technologií v léčbě. Praktická část práce předkládá dvě kazuistiky pacientů s akutní a chronickou závratí.This bachelor thesis researches current Czech and world literature on vertigo and the competence of a physiotherapist for dealing with this widespread symptom. The introductory chapter provides anatomical physiological background; a definition of vertigo, description of its nature and causes. Then the role of balance and its most frequent manifestation nystagmus, is explained. Subsequent chapter analyses causes of vertigo and describes individual clinical units. Thorough examination is the key to the right choice of therapy. Therefore, the topic of examination is dealt with in great detail. For the rehabilitation to be comprehensive, a physiotherapist needs to be aware of further examination methods and procedures which fall beyond their direct area of authority, e.g. audiological examination. The next chapter describes what therapy ought to consist of. Therapeutic manoeuvres are illustrated by an example of the case of benign paroxysmal positional vertigo. Other features of treatment include vestibular rehabilitation, concrete exercise programs, using electrotherapy, pharmacotherapy and modern technologies. The practical part of the thesis consists of two case studies of patients with acute and chronic vertigo.
