Cílem diplomové práce je analýza mediálního rámování (framing analysis) televizních obrazů protestních akcí, které souvisí s finanční krizí a jejími následky, a to v časovém období od 15. září 2008, kdy došlo k pádu americké investiční banky Lehman Brothers, do konce roku 2011. Mediální rámování protestních akcí je zkoumáno na vzorku příslušných zpráv hlavní zpravodajské relace České televize s využitím výzkumné techniky kvantitativní obsahové analýzy. Teoretickým východiskem výzkumu je pak především koncept hegemonie, podle nějž mohou být média využita jako mocenský nástroj dominantního společenského systému a jeho struktur k potlačování opozice a alternativ prostřednictvím vytváření souhlasu s nadvládou. Na základě konceptu hegemonie byl stanoven předpoklad, že budou zprávy o protestních akcích rámovány tak, aby docházelo k degradaci nebo delegitimizaci těchto protestních akcí nebo samotných protestujících. Výsledky výzkumu ukázaly, že kromě výrazné spektakularizace se u protestních akcí souvisejících s finanční krizí hegemonní rámování nijak zásadně neprojevuje. Pokud se však analýza vztáhla na podkategorii antisystémových protestů, výsledky podaly přesvědčivé důkazy o ideologickém vlivu na mediální výstupy. Na základě zjištění vztahujících se k antisystémovým protestům by se dal dokonce identifikovat jeden určující rám hrozba pro společnost.The aim of this thesis is to analyze the media framing of images broadcasted on television which are related to the public protests as a reaction to the financial crisis and its consequences. The images taken into consideration are within the period from 15 September 2008, when Lehman Brothers Holding Inc. collapsed, to 2011. The framing of the protest actions is analyzed on the news reports of the channel Česká televize broadcasted in prime time employing content analysis. The theoretical basis of the research is primarily the concept of hegemony according to which the media could be utilized as an instrument of power by the dominant social system and its structures to suppress the opposition and its various alternatives by means of agreement with the domination. On the basis of the concept of hegemony the assumption was established that the news reports regarding the protests would be framed so as to delegitimize and degrade these actions or the protesters themselves. The outcome of this research proves that besides a noticeable tendency to present these events in a spectacular way the hegemony framing aimed at the protests related to the crisis did not take place. However, if the analysis was employed on the subcategory of anti-system protests the obtained data shows clearly that there was an ideological influence on the information presented by the media. On the ground of the survey related to the protests against the system we could actually define a unifying frame, that is to say a threat for the society.
