Diplomová práce je věnována anglickým dětským říkadlům "nursery rhymes" a jejich použitím. Práce je strukturována do čtyř kapitol, v níž se zabývám následujícími tématy: stručná historie prvních publikací obsahujících "nursery rhymes", analýza formy a literárních prostředků, primární výskyt (funkce "nursery rhymes" jako žánru dětské literatury) a intertextuální výskyt (především použití "nursery rhymes" v próze) , překlad "nursery rhymes" do českého jazyka v závislosti na jejich výskytu.This work deals with "nursery rhymes" and their functions. The work has four chapters concentrating on these themes: brief history of the earliest publications with nursery rhymes, analysis of the form and literary devices, primary occurrence (functions of nursery rhymes as a genre of children's literature) and intertextual occurrence (especially the use of nursery rhymes in prose), translation of nursery rhymes in relation to their occurrence.
