Diplomová práce poukazuje na vývoj dítěte v dětském domově, předkládá obraz péče o opuštěné děti v rámci jednotlivých historických etap. Popisuje typy ústavní výchovy, druhy školských zařízení, v nichž je výkon ústavní výchovy realizován. Nedílnou součástí je vymezení pojmů výchova, složky a cíle výchovy, obsah a vztah výchovy k prostředí. Podrobně je charakterizován život dětí v dětském domově a v závěru teoretické části je zachycena historie a činnost Dětského domova v Boskovicích. Výzkumná část je zaměřena na život dětí v dětských domovech a na pedagogické pracovníky z vybraných zařízení.The target of the dissertation is to point out the process of development of a child in orphanages and other non-penal institutions. The work submits an image of the treatment of abandoned children according to particular historical periods. It describes as well types of institutional care, kinds of school institutions where the institutional care is realized. Specification of notions such as care, factors and aims of care, content and relationship of care in certain evnironment is the inseparable part. Life of children in orphanages and other non-penal institutions is characterized in detail and at the end of the theoretical part the history and activities of orphanage in town of Boskovice is described. The research part is focused on life of children in orphanages and pedagogical workers in selected institutions.
