Práce poukazuje na význam a přínos mateřských center ke zlepšení současné situace matek na mateřské dovolené a rodičovské dovolené a dětí a představuje je jako možnou třetí cestu řešení dilematu mateřství nebo kariéra. Celá práce vychází z výsledků dotazníkového šetření mezi ženami, které jsou v současné době na mateřské dovolené, analýzy těchto dat a syntézy nejnovějších poznatků v oblasti rodiny a volnočasových aktivit rodičů. Na základě zjištěných údajů a z nich vyvozených závěrů byla sestavena doporučení, která mohou být použita pro prezentaci projektu mateřského centra při jeho zakládání.The thesis point out the importance and benefits of the maternity centres to the improvement of the mothers on maternity leave and children current situation and present them as a possible third way how to solve dilemma "maternity or career". The idea of the whole thesis comes from the results of the survey among women that are nowadays on maternity leave, the analysis of this survey and the synthesis of the latest findings in family and parents leisure time activities areas. Recommendations made on the basis of the main findings from the study and the conclusions can be used for the presentation of an intented project of maternity centre.
