Diplomová práce se zabývá dlouhotrvající kauzou, která provází město Olomouc. Tím je záměr soukromého investora Richarda Morávka postavit výškovou budovu Šantovka Tower v blízkosti historického centra Olomouce. Hlavní část práce je věnována historickému průběhu kauzy, představení všech zainteresovaných stran a jejich názorů. Jako zdroj sloužily novinové články českých médií, vydané správní rozhodnutí a výzkumné rozhovory. Obecně je problematika výstavby nové výškové budovy v blízkosti historického centra porovnána s příklady dalších evropských měst na základě literární rešerše.This diploma thesis deals with a long-lasting case and issue that has been haunting the city of Olomouc for more than ten years. Private investor Richard Morávek announced his intentions to build Šantovka Tower, a high-rise building located near the historical center of Olomouc. The main focus of this thesis is devoted to the history of the case, introducing all interested parties and opinions. Sources used include newspaper articles in the Czech media, reports of administrative decisions and relevant research interviews. The concept of the construction of a new high-rise building near the historical center of Olomouc is also compared with other European cities with similar situations, with information gathered using a literature search.
